Limited Warranty, Refund and Service Policy
Effective Date: August 18, 2026
At AJ's Mobile Window Tinting ("AJ's," "we," "us," or "our"), we take pride in the quality of our materials, craftsmanship, and customer service. Our goal is to provide professional window film installations that perform and look as intended for years to come.
This Limited Warranty, Refund & Service Policy explains the warranty protection applicable to our work, what is and is not covered, and how warranty claims, installation concerns, cancellations, and refunds are handled.
This policy applies unless different terms are expressly stated in writing on a customer's estimate, invoice, contract, manufacturer's warranty, or other written agreement.
1. LLUMAR MANUFACTURER'S LIMITED WARRANTY
Eligible LLumar® automotive window films installed by AJ's are covered by the applicable LLumar manufacturer's limited warranty in effect for the particular product installed.
For qualifying LLumar automotive products carrying lifetime coverage, the manufacturer's warranty may provide a Lifetime Limited Warranty against specified defects in the film, subject to LLumar's terms, conditions, exclusions, documentation requirements, transferability provisions, and other limitations.
Depending upon the LLumar product installed, covered manufacturer defects may include conditions such as:
-
cracking;
-
peeling;
-
demetallizing;
-
delamination, where applicable; and
-
unusual or abnormal color change, where applicable.
Manufacturer warranty coverage varies by film type and product line. The actual LLumar warranty applicable to the film installed controls in the event of any conflict between this policy and LLumar's warranty.
AJ's does not independently manufacture or warrant LLumar film and cannot modify, expand, or override the manufacturer's warranty.
Customers should retain their original invoice, warranty documentation, and any other proof of purchase required by LLumar.
2. AJ'S LIMITED WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY
In addition to any applicable manufacturer's warranty, AJ's stands behind the workmanship of installations performed by AJ's. AJ's warrants that window film will be installed using professional installation practices and will be reasonably free from material installation defects. If AJ's determines that a problem was directly caused by our installation workmanship, AJ's will, at its option:
-
correct the affected installation;
-
remove and reinstall the affected film; or
-
replace the affected film.
For a valid workmanship warranty claim, AJ's will perform the approved corrective work without charging the customer for the covered reinstallation.
Reinstallation or replacement is the exclusive remedy under AJ's workmanship warranty unless otherwise required by applicable law.
3. WHAT IS CONSIDERED A WARRANTABLE INSTALLATION DEFECT
Examples of conditions that may constitute warrantable workmanship defects include:
-
significant contamination, debris, or foreign material trapped beneath the film beyond what is reasonably expected from a professional aftermarket film installation;
-
premature lifting or peeling caused by improper installation;
-
material creasing attributable to installation;
-
improper film placement or trimming that materially affects the appearance or function of the installation; or
-
another condition AJ's determines resulted directly from improper installation.
Whether a condition constitutes a workmanship defect will be determined after inspection of the affected window or film.
4. NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS THAT ARE NOT DEFECTS
Window tint is an aftermarket film installed onto existing glass. It is not factory-installed glazing, and absolute optical perfection cannot reasonably be guaranteed. The following are generally considered normal characteristics and are not, by themselves, installation defects:
-
minor dust particles or small points of contamination that are not readily noticeable under normal viewing conditions;
-
minor edge variations consistent with hand-cut or computer-cut aftermarket film installation;
-
slight visual distortion when viewing through film at certain angles;
-
temporary haze, cloudiness, moisture pockets, or small water bubbles during the curing period;
-
slight variations in appearance caused by factory glass, existing glass coloration, lighting, viewing angle, or vehicle interior;
-
visible factory markings, scratches, chips, pits, defects, contamination, or imperfections in the underlying glass;
-
dot-matrix, frit, ceramic-edge, antenna, defroster-line, or similar areas where film may appear different or may not adhere identically to ordinary glass; and
-
minor cosmetic conditions that do not materially impair the appearance, adhesion, or intended performance of the film.
Customers should allow the film to fully cure before requesting an inspection for appearance-related concerns. Cure time varies based on film, weather, temperature, humidity, and sun exposure and may take several days or longer.
5. CONDITIONS NOT COVERED BY AJ'S WARRANTY
AJ's warranty does not cover damage, failure, or appearance concerns caused by circumstances outside AJ's workmanship, including:
-
scratches, chips, cracks, defects, or damage in the underlying glass;
-
pre-existing damage or contamination;
-
damage caused by the customer or any third party;
-
accidents, collisions, vandalism, theft, impact, fire, flood, storms, or other external events;
-
improper cleaning or maintenance;
-
abrasive cleaners, blades, scrapers, chemicals, tools, stickers, suction devices, adhesives, or other products applied to the film;
-
damage caused by pets, children, cargo, seat belts, jewelry, equipment, or objects contacting the film;
-
alteration, removal, repair, or modification of the film by anyone other than AJ's or an authorized warranty provider;
-
replacement, repair, modification, or breakage of the underlying glass;
-
mechanical problems with windows, regulators, seals, trim, weather stripping, defrosters, antennas, sensors, or other vehicle components;
-
damage caused by defective or deteriorated window seals, weather stripping, trim, or vehicle components;
-
normal wear and tear;
-
conditions specifically excluded by the applicable manufacturer's warranty;
-
customer dissatisfaction with a shade, color, darkness, reflectivity, or film selected and approved by the customer when the correct film was installed;
-
changes in customer preference after installation; or
-
removal requested for reasons unrelated to a covered warranty defect.
6. CUSTOMER FILM SELECTION
Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving their selected film type and available shade before installation. Film appearance may vary based on:
-
factory glass coloration;
-
factory privacy glass;
-
existing tint or coating;
-
interior color;
-
exterior lighting;
-
viewing angle;
-
vehicle design; and
-
the combined visible light transmission of the film and existing glass.
Once the customer-selected film has been installed correctly, a preference for a different shade, darkness, appearance, or product does not constitute a warranty claim. If a customer later wants a different film or shade for personal preference, removal and reinstallation will be treated as a new service and charged at AJ's then-current rates.
7. FLORIDA TINT LAW & LEGAL COMPLIANCE
AJ's is committed to complying with applicable Florida window-tint laws. AJ's will not knowingly install automotive window film that violates applicable Florida law unless the installation is lawfully permitted pursuant to a valid statutory exemption applicable to the vehicle or customer. Where required, the customer is responsible for providing satisfactory documentation of a valid exemption before installation.
Because visible light transmission is affected by the combined performance of the film and the vehicle's existing glass, factory tint, privacy glass, pre-existing film, replacement glass, or other glazing characteristics may affect the final measurement. AJ's reserves the right to measure existing glass before installation and to refuse any requested installation that AJ's reasonably believes would violate applicable law. AJ's may also refuse service where the legality of a requested installation cannot reasonably be verified.
Illegal or Noncompliant Tint
Manufacturer warranty coverage may be void where film is installed or used in violation of applicable law.
Accordingly, no AJ's warranty shall be interpreted as guaranteeing or warranting the legality of film that has been altered, modified, layered, transferred, used, or registered under circumstances different from those existing at the time AJ's performed the installation. AJ's does not warrant noncompliant tint installed by another installer.
AJ's will not provide warranty replacement that would require AJ's to perform an installation prohibited by applicable law.
If a vehicle's registration, use, ownership, glass, existing film, exemption status, or applicable law changes after installation, the customer is responsible for maintaining continued legal compliance.
8. PRE-EXISTING TINT & TINT REMOVAL
When AJ's removes film installed by another party, removal involves inherent risks, particularly on older vehicles and glass containing defroster lines, antennas, coatings, damaged adhesive, deteriorated film, or pre-existing defects. AJ's will use reasonable professional care during removal but cannot guarantee that pre-existing film can be removed without revealing or contributing to damage associated with the condition of the existing film, adhesive, glass, defroster, antenna, or related components. Unless AJ's causes damage through negligent workmanship, such pre-existing or removal-related conditions are not covered by AJ's workmanship warranty.
AJ's does not assume the warranty obligations of another tint installer.
9. CUSTOMER CARE RESPONSIBILITIES
To maintain warranty eligibility, customers must follow AJ's and the film manufacturer's care instructions.
Customers should:
-
avoid rolling tinted windows down during the initial curing period specified by AJ's;
-
avoid cleaning the inside of newly tinted windows until instructed that it is safe to do so;
-
use film-safe cleaning products;
-
avoid abrasive cleaners, brushes, razor blades, scrapers, or other sharp objects on the film; and
-
promptly notify AJ's if a potential warranty issue develops.
Damage caused by failure to follow reasonable care instructions is not covered.
10. WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE
Customers who believe they have a warranty issue should contact AJ's and provide:
-
customer name;
-
telephone number or email address;
-
vehicle year, make, and model;
-
date of installation, if available;
-
original invoice or other proof of purchase;
-
photographs or video of the issue, if requested; and
-
a description of the concern.
AJ's may require an in-person inspection before approving warranty service. AJ's must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where covered, correct the condition before the customer has the film removed, repaired, or replaced by another provider. Work performed by another installer without prior authorization from AJ's will not be reimbursed by AJ's unless otherwise required by applicable law.
11. WARRANTY REMEDY — REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT, NOT AUTOMATIC REFUND
When a legitimate warranty claim can reasonably be corrected through repair or replacement, AJ's will be given the opportunity to correct the work.
A warrantable installation issue does not automatically entitle the customer to a cash refund. AJ's primary warranty remedy is correction, removal and reinstallation, or replacement of the affected film.
AJ's is not obligated to repeatedly replace film for conditions that:
-
are not covered warranty defects;
-
fall within normal aftermarket installation tolerances;
-
result from the vehicle or glass rather than the installation;
-
result from customer damage or improper care; or
-
cannot reasonably be attributed to AJ's workmanship.
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable remedy available to a consumer under applicable law.
12. REFUND POLICY
Because window film is cut, prepared, and installed specifically for a customer's vehicle or property, completed installations are customized services and generally cannot be returned or resold.
Accordingly:
Completed Services
ALL SALES OF COMPLETED WINDOW FILM INSTALLATIONS ARE FINAL, EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY LAW OR EXPRESSLY PROVIDED UNDER AN APPLICABLE WARRANTY.
AJ's does not provide refunds solely because a customer:
-
changes their mind after installation;
-
decides they prefer a different shade;
-
decides the tint is too light or too dark after approving the selected film;
-
sells or trades the vehicle;
-
moves to another jurisdiction;
-
is directed to remove film because of a circumstance not caused by AJ's;
-
damages the film;
-
modifies the vehicle or glass; or
-
otherwise requests removal for a reason unrelated to a covered warranty defect.
If AJ's determines that a covered defect exists, AJ's will first provide the applicable warranty remedy described in this policy. Nothing in this policy eliminates a refund, cancellation, or other remedy that applicable law expressly requires AJ's to provide.
13. DEPOSITS, CANCELLATIONS & MISSED APPOINTMENTS
Any deposit, booking fee, cancellation fee, or rescheduling policy disclosed to the customer at the time of booking will apply to the appointment.
If a customer cancels before AJ's has ordered, cut, prepared, or committed customized materials or incurred nonrecoverable costs, AJ's may refund amounts paid in accordance with the cancellation terms disclosed at booking.
Once custom materials have been ordered, prepared, or cut for the customer's project, amounts attributable to those materials may be nonrefundable to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in this section limits any cancellation right that cannot legally be waived.
14. TRANSACTIONS SUBJECT TO A STATUTORY RIGHT TO CANCEL
Certain transactions entered into at a customer's home or another location away from AJ's regular place of business may, depending on how the transaction was initiated and consummated, be subject to federal or Florida laws providing a consumer with a limited right to cancel.Where a transaction is legally subject to such a cooling-off or cancellation period, the customer's statutory cancellation rights control over any inconsistent provision of this policy.
AJ's will provide any cancellation notice or documentation required by applicable law for transactions to which those requirements apply.
15. RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL INSTALLATIONS
Manufacturer warranty periods and conditions for residential, commercial, decorative, safety/security, and other architectural films may differ materially from automotive film warranties.
The manufacturer's warranty applicable to the specific architectural film installed will control manufacturer warranty coverage.
Architectural-film warranties may contain separate requirements relating to:
-
film type;
-
glass type;
-
installation configuration;
-
seal failure;
-
thermal stress;
-
glass breakage;
-
residential versus commercial use;
-
warranty duration; and
-
other building or glazing conditions.
AJ's will not represent an architectural installation as carrying a "lifetime warranty" unless the particular film and application actually qualify for such coverage.
16. LIMITATION OF AJ'S WARRANTY
AJ's workmanship warranty covers AJ's installation workmanship only.It does not expand, modify, or replace the manufacturer's warranty applicable to the film. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AJ's responsibility for a covered workmanship claim is limited to correcting or replacing the portion of film affected by the covered workmanship defect. AJ's is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from a warranty claim to the extent such limitations are permitted by applicable law. Some rights and remedies cannot legally be excluded or limited. Nothing in this policy is intended to waive or restrict any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.
17. NO UNAUTHORIZED WARRANTY MODIFICATIONS
No employee, technician, salesperson, subcontractor, or representative of AJ's is authorized to create or promise warranty coverage beyond:
-
this written AJ's warranty;
-
the applicable manufacturer's written warranty; or
-
another written warranty expressly authorized by AJ's.
Statements such as "lifetime warranty" refer to the applicable written limited warranty and do not mean that every possible condition, damage, appearance concern, or customer preference is covered for life.
18. MANUFACTURER WARRANTY CONTROLS
LLumar® is a trademark of its respective owner/manufacturer. AJ's is an independent installer and does not control the manufacturer's warranty program.
Manufacturer warranty coverage is determined by the manufacturer under the warranty applicable to the specific product installed.
If the manufacturer's warranty changes, the warranty applicable to the customer's installation will be determined by the manufacturer's applicable terms and the customer's warranty documentation.
19. FLORIDA LAW
This policy is governed by applicable federal law and the laws of the State of Florida, without limiting any consumer protection that cannot legally be waived.
If any provision of this policy is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective to the fullest extent permitted by law.
20. OUR COMMITMENT
We want every AJ's customer to be confident in the work we perform. If something is genuinely wrong with our workmanship, we will stand behind it and make it right.
At the same time, our warranty is intended to protect customers from legitimate film or installation defects—not changes in preference, customer-caused damage, normal characteristics of aftermarket window film, pre-existing vehicle conditions, unlawful modifications, or problems outside our control.
